How to Add Text to a PDF

The actions that follow are based on the assumption that you are adding text to an existing PDF.   1. Create a scalable text box or a text box with a set width, and then insert your text into it.
  • As text is added to a scalable text box, the box extends from the cursor to the right margin and the bottom margin of the page, respectively.

To build a scalable text box, start by placing your mouse anywhere on the page and then typing or copying and pasting text into the text box.

  • When using fixed-width text boxes, the width of the box remains the same and the box merely scales lengthwise to accommodate extra text.

How to Resize a Text Box in a PDF

  1. In the Edit PDF toolbar (as seen in figure 6), select Edit. To resize your document, move your mouse over one of the border handles (small squares) until your cursor changes to a resizing cursor, which is two lines with two arrows.

Nonetheless, if there is insufficient room for the current text to be positioned vertically, the vertical option will not be displayed. Vertical text may be converted back to horizontal text by right-clicking on the text box and selecting Make text orientation horizontal from the shortcut menu.

How to Delete a Text Box in a PDF

  1. In the Edit PDF toolbar (as seen in figure 6), select Edit. Hover your mouse over the text box’s border until your cursor changes to a movement cursor, which is represented by two crossed arrows
